Bikkembergs inks new license deal for leather goods line

In the last four years, Bikkemberg’s leather accessories were created under licence by another Italian manufacturer, Bologna-based Tichebox, a travel goods specialist. Now the label has decided to change its licensee to boost the growth of its bags, belts and small leather goods collection, stating in a press release that “the range of models on offer will significantly expand, allowing us to satisfy the needs of customers that are increasingly demanding and diverse.”Bikkembergs chose La Compagnia delle Pelli, a leather goods manufacturer which is also the licensee for the Cavalli Class and John Richmond leather goods lines, to benefit from a specialised sales network. Since July 2015, Dirk Bikkembergs is owned, via the Levitas company, by Chinese group Canudilo, with a 51% share of the stock. The remaining 49% is equally split between Zeis Excelsa (footwear) et Sinv (apparel).The label also licensed out its childrenswear collection to Unique Children Wear, the beachwear and underwear collections to Perofil and the fragrances license to Perfume Holding. Dirk Bikkembergs currently operates 20 monobrand stores worldwide.
